The riad Bab Agnaou was named after the famous gate of the Kasbah walls built by Yacoub El Mansour in about 1190. Located within the "golden triangle" of this town-section, close to the Royal Palace, the saâdiens tombs, Badia Palace and it’s 5 minutes on foot from the Jmaâ El Fna, it is easily accessible by car or horse-carriage. Faithfully restored with great care in the genuine marrakchi tradition, it displays the treasures of Moroccan craftsmanship: elegant delicately wrought columns, mosaïc-inlaid grounds, tadelakt-coated walls, carved cedar woodwork and ancient ironworks. The terrace, backing on to the rampart walls of the Kasbah, has a wonderful & a special view over the Medina of Marrakech: the Badia palace with its storks nests, the Koutoubia mosque and the Atlas mountains, snow-capped in winter. “Nouaàmane” the manager of the riad and his team lets you taste the fine Moroccan cuisine and they are at your disposal for your discovery of this city and its surroundings.
