Windsurfing paradise (almost) - Jul 28, 2019
Simple but lovely and clean accommodation with great food (but don't expect western junk-food so don't take your kids if they only eat pizza and chicken nuggets). Friendly staff, both in the 'hotel' and in Club Ion. My son and I were windsurfing and for most of the time we were the only ones doing windsurfing so we had the entire kit range to ourselves until the last day. If you did have to mix with more than 3 windsurfers the limited number of sails would become a problem but this seems to be an unlikely scenario. Yes, the carry to the water is about 150m but the Club Ion crew take and fetch your board so it's actually pretty easy and well worth it because WOW, does the wind blow!Note that the distance across this top part of the lagoon is quite short. This makes it perfect to practice your manoeuvres but less good if you're a tedious sort who wants to sit in a reach all day. If that's your bag, just drift downwind a bit and you'll get more space. There are a lot of kitesurfers but they mostly respected the rights of way. I was not much inconvenienced. This was my second trip to Dakhla. The first time I stayed at Dakhla Attitude. The rooms were much nicer here at Ocean Vagabond and the choice of food was better too.sebastienvagabond, Propriétaire at Ocean Vagabond Dakhla Lagoon, responded to this review thanks Phil for your detailed comment. we are trying to improve again our windsurfing dpt. next season will have more equipment.best regardssebastien « less ...

Windsurfing - Jul 8, 2019
Club Ion at Ocean VagabondFabulous for kite surfing. Windsurfing needs more sails as choice in the mid range is very short supply.Najeer and Husain are brilliant at there job of looking after clients. All th staff in the camp are so eager to please.Cannot give high rating as we did have a problem with shortage of sails. Sabastian take note original review deleted as it may seem the staff are at fault. Buy more kit for your clients.3000 miles and €8000 to find no sail to use. Not good.sebastienvagabond, Propriétaire at Ocean Vagabond Dakhla Lagoon, responded to this review thanks Denny for this new comment.we will pay more attention to our windsurfing equipmentbest regardsseb « less ...
