Great place, but a few areas of major improvement - Mar 10, 2019
We were there perhaps a few weeks before prime season. Their gym didn't have towels or water in it. All gyms I've been in has water at least except this one. They just give you a key and you go let yourself in I guess. The pools are actually cold and not heated, but I guess its just a few months of cold pool. The staff was all pretty friendly for Tangier. The restaurant was pretty expensive and not that great food so after the first night we got a taxi to town. Taxi to town costs 150 durham each way ($15), so just plan on that period. Plenty of good food in town which makes up for the hotel restaurants being pretty bad. Pretty good wine menu for Morocco. My advice to mgmt: change the restaurant between lunch and dinner. Make it more casual. Its awkward when the staff is in tuxes and all 10 people in the restaurant are in shorts or jeans. Also the breakfast is 100% overpriced. This place also charges for water to brush your teeth with.,.. $5 per water bottle. Its pretty outrageous. This location and view can't be beat! I mean seriously the views are amazing! The checkin process was good. The staff and especially front staff were awesome. Our room's door wouldn't lock though so we had them move us. Oh and the wifi only works in the restaurant and main area, very few of the rooms and pool are connected. They said they were working on fixing it.Overall if I return to Tangiers, I'll still probably stay here, but I will now know to bring water and to plan to eat dinner elsewhere unless they fix up the restaurant quality, options, and pricing.lemirageTangier, Manager at Le Mirage, responded to this review Greetings,Thank you for sharing your experience on TripAdvisor. The place to be , but...! - Mar 6, 2019
Being a big lover of the place, I go with my family to the restaurant everytime we are in Tangier. Last time was a week ago with more guests to celebrate a birthday (we were 7 poeple). There is no doubt this hotel is by far one of the best ever in Morocco and even in the West of Mediterranean. Restaurant is of high standart ,cozy, very quiet and very clean. Perfect service, profesional ans very polite staff.. adding the view on the fantastic beach...we can't ask more..Now coming to the food,..., we wanted to change from the standart offer and asked for a degustation menu. Courses were all tasty but I would recommend to order fish. The Chef is a seafood expert. Meat was with less success so to my point not to be the main order. However there is still a way to go… two details to be seriously reviewed :1 - The wine list is poor , At the standart of the hotel, one would really like to have more choice.2 – Process of degustation menu is hectic : Plates were big,not individual and needed to be shared. We have had to ask assistance of the staff to serve and this created a big mess on the table,we would have prefered smaller but individual portions. This might even give more taste to the course. But all in all restarant remains highly recommended . Dont miss it if you are in the area.lemirageTangier, Manager at Le Mirage, responded to this review Greetings,Thank you very much for your detailed review about Le Mirage Hotel. One of a Kind. - Aug 28, 2018
We had lunch at this magnificent location. For once, the name ('Le Mirage') is actually perfectly apt.The restaurant and adjacent hotel are perched on top of a cliff. The blue Moroccan sky meets the differently hued sea and this is set off by the whitish blue marble of the expansive patio which comprises the outdoor part of the restaurant. Everything is a shade of blue--the sea, the sky and the land-- and it is hardly possible to tell where one starts and the other ends. A mirage. We were having an early lunch and for a long time we (my family, our guide Adil and our driver Zohel) were the only guests in the restaurant. It was an amazing and sensory experience.I wish I could say that the food was wonderful--it was just good. BUt it almost didn't matter. It is a must see if you are able to get to Tangiers.Mehdi B, Manager at Le Mirage, responded to this review Greetings,Thank you very much for the words of praise.
