Soco225 - Tangier, Morocco
Excellent location, superb staff and service - Mar 16, 2019
I’ve been staying at Dar Yasmine since the start of February when I had an accident that prevented me from travelling on to Europe. While I haven’t been able to get out and around to see much of Tangier, I can strongly recommend this hotel to anyone. It’s in the old Médina so the location is excellent. It’s also close to the port, the waterfront, the kasbah museum, the American Legation and more. It’s very clean and comfortable with generous bathrooms, and the staff treat you like family. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They have bent over backwards to look after me and have made my time so much more bearable. Being away from family and home when you’re injured can be lonely and isolating, but my new family at Dar Yasmine have ensured I felt cared for and not alone. Breakfast is plentiful, varied, includes the obligatory mint tea I’ve become accustomed to in Morocco and served on the rooftop terrace where you have a view of the water. I’ve watched a lot of Netflix while injured courtesy of the hotel’s free wifi. Hana the day manager is fluent in Spanish, French and English (as well as her native Arabic) and has been my saving grace. Everything she does for the guests is done with love and a generous heart. I don’t know what I would have done without her. You are close to the mosque and hear the call to prayer, but this is part of the experience in my opinion. I hear it if I’m awake but it doesn’t wake me. If you’re a light sleeper you might want to pack ear plugs just in case.« less ...

Tánger Dar Yasmine again, this time with the family. Near the harbour of Tánger Ville ( 15 min. By walking from the boat) and this time we took hop in -hop off bus from there also. Ask what ever the stuff will tell you the best way to do it.« less ...

Very expensive for so little,. Tiny room and bathroom. No lift. Dodgy air conditioning. Very poor breakfast selection which was frozen and reheated each day. Only good part was proximity to the Medina and rooftop. Please book elsewhere.« less ...
