Special place with a special history - Mar 18, 2020
We recently stayed for 3 nights and had a lovely time. The Riad recently bought an adjoining house so it is even larger now. The staff was fantastic and very accommodating. We met the grandson of the owner of the original part of the Riad. Our rooms were quite spacious and clean. The food was excellent both at breakfast and dinner. The lamb was a tie for best with one other meal. The hamman was such a unique experience and Zena was amazing. Do not hesitate to use the hamman there. The location is also very convenient for drivers and tour pickups.« less

Could be fantastic - Mar 17, 2020
The Riad is well located just inside the old city and an easy walk into the souks. It’s a beautiful building but it could be so much better. The original part of the Riad is exquisite architecture but my room (#7) is in a new part and was not finished. We were told that we had been upgraded to the ‘Ambassadors’ suites - I dare say the Ambassador had not yet stayed! My room was huge but empty - no bedside lights, no phone to reception, no where to hang clothes up except a rail on wheels with 2 coat hangers, no towel hooks in the bathroom, nowhere to put soap and no safe in the room - basically unfinished. The staff spoke very little English and were hardly ever seen and when we did see them, offered limited help. They were friendly but I would suggest that management are giving them no direction. The check in process involved no information regarding breakfast and where it was served and no helpful information such as maps, tours available, how to get around and where the hotel was located - for anyone who has stayed in Morocco in a Médina - you definitely need to know that. The breakfasts were very average which was such a shame given this place is meant to be 5 star.Hopefully all of these issues can and will be addressed as it could be a wonderful place to stay.« less

Could be so much better - Mar 17, 2020
Beautiful Riad in good location. Rooms were palatial but offered little privacy with windows open. We stayed in 2 Ambassador suite rooms in the new section of the hotel , that had obviously only just been finished. Attention to detail was lacking and maybe addressed down the track.but things like no where to hang your towel no where to put your soap and no water replenished on a daily basis are essential for what is supposed to be a luxury stay. The roof top was desolate, largely a building site and disappointing given the beautiful views. The most difficult part of the stay was lack of English spoken by any of the staff, all of whom seemed rather aimless and without direction. We arrived late at night and were never shown the facilities available at the hotel or even where breakfast was to be served. Breakfast was ordinary to say the least and the coffee was of the weak instant kind. With attention to detail and a real effort this could be a lovely place to stay .« less

Wonderful Experience - Mar 11, 2020
We just returned from a 2 week trip to Morocco and spent 3 nights at Riad El Amine Fes. We enjoyed an excellent dinner in the Riad our first night. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. On our other two evenings in Fes, The staff arranged our transportation, made dinner reservations for us and walked us out of the Médina to the driver to ensure we did not get lost or have any problems. We were permitted to use the beautiful terrace even though it is under construction and were served our drinks up there together with some wonderful snacks at no Additional charge and which had not been requested. They could not do enough to make us comfortable. And happy. The Riad is a very clean and comfortable old building that has been beautifully restored. Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.« less

Outstanding stay! - Mar 10, 2020
Riad el Amine in Fes was simply outstanding! The old world charm of the renovation makes this a very unique experience. Colourful mosaics, intrigue wood working takes you back in time. 20 rooms, all different. Mehdi Ameur, the owner, greeted us upon arrival and was present throughout our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this riad!« less
