Moved a day prior - Apr 8, 2016
In spite of confirmed booking done in the end of October 2015, we received an intimation a day prior that due to rain we are being moved to Riad Alamanda 2. We booked 5 bedrooms & had to insist to convert one of the help quarters to the 5th room on the second night. They compensated us with half board & free one day guided tour but it pretty much got us all on the wrong start. The location was close to the local Jewish market, Al-Bahia / Al-Badia palace, Money exchange etc. There were some issues related to amenities & were fixed the next day of reporting.« less

Savaged by bedbugs and made to pay for the privilege! - Jan 12, 2016
I ended up at Riad Alamanda because of the cheap price offered on booking.com. No wonder: the room was small and dark with no toilet door, the riad location was highly questionable - down a series of litter strewn, dark alleys, the signpost less location marked by a homeless person's mattress. We required the use of a chariot to get our luggage in and out of there, not to mention the local guide requiring a fee to help us find it. Worst of all though - the bed was infested with bugs. I had an hour lie down and got up with a series of bites down one side. Of course we asked to change room but we're only offered the opportunity to pay for a more expensive room. If my booking hadn't been non-refundable for the cheap price, I might have changed hotel. As it was, I swallowed the 50% price increase in the hope of a bug-free bed. The new room was much nicer/ bigger/ lighter with a window, but I really felt that this should have been offered to us without quibble and with apology. Instead the bill was hiked considerably. On the plus side the nighttime staff man was really kind. Breakfast was poor though. I wasn't even offered a mint tea.« less

Ideal centrally located riad calm and peaceful from the hustle bustle - Jun 16, 2015
Well situated, about 5-10mins from the main square. Rooms are clean and pleasant. Breakfast basic but fine as was the included dinner, if you want wine bring your own as Morocco doesn't sell the stuff except in more fancier restaurants.Ideally French speaking helps as well. The riad is down an alley way which looks a bit daunting at first but quite safe.Overall excellent value for money.« less
