Itinerary:

Day 1: MARRAKECH – KASBAH AIT BEN HADOU – ZAGORA (about 7 hours drive):

Departure from your hotel-accommodation in Marrakech around 07:00 am to start your trip to Zagora, we cross the high Atlas mountain through Tizi Ntichka pass ( 2260 m. alt ) driving past different adobe Berber villages, and locals herding their goats.
Upon arrival to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou, a famous film production location. Enjoy free time to visit the site, or hire a local guide (own expense) to explore in greater detail.

Afterwards, you will head to Ouarzazate for lunch next to the famous Kasbah of Taourirt which represents the historical and cultural interest of Ouarzazate. After lunch you will travel to the south and cross the second pass which is Tizi N'Tnifift at 1710m and Ait Saoun village, the former route of caravans for Sahara traders coming from "Tombouktou", you will reach the first administrative centre called "Agdez Village" that marks the source of Draa Valley. You will continue through the lunar landscapes and the Pre-Sahara routes until you get to Zagora .

Upon arrival at Zagora desert late in the afternoon, we meet our camel caravans, we drive our camels to our Berber desert camp nestled between the middle of nowhere. Dinner will be served tonight under the stars while the local Berbers entertain us with their drums. Feel free to learn about the stars constellation or just enjoy the silence of the desert under the crystal clear skies.

Overnight: Accommodation at a private tent in a Berber desert camp with showers and bathroom (outside your tent ).

Day 2: Zagora, Draa-Valley, Ouarzazate, Marrakech:

A wake early to see the sunrise over the dunes, followed by a brakfast in the bivouac of Zagora, then ride back the camels  to explore the surrounding area and back to our vehicle, then drive back to Marrakech, you will pass via Ouarzazate and have free time for lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will continue via the Atlas Mountains to get to Marrakech.

We reach Marrakech around 6 pm or 7 pm depending on traffic.

Our accommodation:

Our accommodation is in private tents with shower and toilet (outside the tent).

What is included in the price?:

-      Overnight accommodation in private tent.

-       Pickup & drop off at your Marrakech accommodation

-       Transportation in modern and air-conditioned private car with an English speaking driver.

-      Camel ride.

-       Breakfast and dinner.

What is not included in the price:

-      Lunch is between 2€ and 10€ the menu per person.

-      Local guide in Kasbah ait ben haddou (about 3€/2 people)

-      Entrance fees to the monuments

-      Personal purchases

What to remember:

Please be sure to bring warm clothing in the winter (no sleeping bags are required), light clothing in the summer, sunscreen, a hat, good walking shoes. You can ask your hotel if you can leave your luggage in the reception of the hotel in Marrakech and take it when you back from the excursion (most of hotels they accept it).

Availability:

Our 2 days trip to Zagora from Marrakech is available every day during the whole of the year, you can even make last minute booking (one night before your departure), however it’s highly recommended to book in advance on high season to ensure providing you a driver speaking your language.
