Itinerary:

DAY 1: MARRAKECH – BOUMALNE DADES ( 06H00 DRIVE ):

Our shared 3 days desert trip from Marrakech to Merzouga will start early in the morning. We depart Marrakech at 07h00 AM (from your hotel) to Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou through Tizi Ntichka pass and the high Atlas Mountains. Numerous stops will be made along the way. Visit the UNESCO world heritage Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, which was also served as a set for various Hollywood blockbusters. We continue to Ouarzazate and visit Kasbah Taourirte before lunch ( At leisure ). In the afternoon, we drive to Skoura, then Boumalne Dades via the Valley of the Roses before we reach our guest house located in Dades Valley where we spend our first night( with dinner and breakfast included).

DAY 2: BOUMALNE DADES – Todra gorges - MERZOUGA (4H00 DRIVE ):

After breakfast at your hotel in Dades Valley, our journey will start today with a drive along the road of 1001 Kasbahs to the oasis of Tinghir, where we will deviate to a minor road driving along the river to Todgha canyons. After some time at leisure to enjoy the immensity of the huge cliffs, and lunch at a local café ( At leisure ), we continue early in the afternoon to Rissani, famous for its dates market, and being a starting point of the ancient trading caravans crossing the Sahara desert to Tomboctou. After a quick stop, we will continue to Merzouga, a small village sitting on the borders of the Sahara Desert. Driving through some rocky desert landscape.

Upon arrival at the edge of Erg Chebbi dunes, we will get to a hotel in Merzouga where we will leave our luggage and take only the necessary for the night in small bags. We will meet our camel caravan, and ride our camels through the amazing color-changing sand dunes with the sunset in the horizon as a backdrop, a great opportunity to take magical photos of the sunset over the dunes.

After one hour on camels we reach our Sahara desert camp; nestled in the middle of nowhere; just before darkness. After some time to admire the sand dunes and the surrounding landscapes, get ready for a Moroccan dinner served under the stars next to the camp fire. Late at night, your local nomad hosts will be entertaining you with their drums.

Overnight: Accommodation at a LUXURY PRIVATE tent in a Berber desert camp with showers and bathroom(outside your tent ).

DAY 3: MERZOUGA – MARRAKECH ( 9H00 DRIVE ):

Our guides in the camp will wake you up early to watch the sunrise in the dunes before riding back to Merzouga.

After an early breakfast, and showering in the desert camp (option) a camel ride back to the main road where you will meet your driver and vehicle and drive back to Ouarzazate. After some time at leisure for lunch, we carry on in the afternoon to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains.

Your desert tour to Merzouga will end in Marrakech at about 19h00.

Our accommodation:

Our accommodation is in a hostel for the 1^st night and in a private tent with shower and toilet (outside the tent) for the second night.

Please note that our desert camp has a luxury category and we are the only company who guarantee a private tent for your accommodation and we never mix different guests in the same tent.

What is included in the price?:

-      Overnight accommodation in hostel and luxury tent.

-       Pickup & drop off at your Marrakech accommodation

-       Transportation in modern and air-conditioned minibus with maximum 17 people,   with English speaking driver.

-      Camel ride.

-       Breakfast and dinner.

What is not included in the price:

-      Lunch is between 2€ and 10€ the menu per person.

-      Local guide in Kasbah ait ben haddou (about 3€/2 people)

-      Entrance fees to the monuments

-      Personal purchases

What to remember:

Please be sure to bring warm clothing in the winter (no sleeping bags are required), light clothing in the summer, sunscreen, a hat, good walking shoes. You can ask your hotel if you can leave your luggage in the reception of the hotel in Marrakech and take it when you back from the excursion (most of hotels they accept it).

Availability:

Our 3 days trip to Merzouga from Marrakech is available every day during the whole of the year, you can even make last minute booking (one night before your departure), however it’s highly recommended to book in advance on high season to ensure providing you a driver speaking your language.
